Very overrated. If this books is helpful then you likely haven't spent much time fishing. It's all the basics. Not worth the money or the time to read it!

I've never been that big into Crappie fishing until last year. Always been a Bass, and Catfish type of guy. I started fishing my wife's family ponds that haven't been fished in years. All of which are over stock piled with fish, and need clearing out. I didn't know one had Crappie in it, and was using an ultr light to catch bass when all of a sudden I started nailing Crappie. From then on I was hooked on catching them. I needed some tips since I have never really gone after them, and this book provides some very good ones along with some recipes for those who aren't that sure about their cooking skills. All in all an ace shot.

Got this for my husband to help on catching crappie. Like others he said it had lots of information he enjoyed reading and ways to properly dress them and cooking recipes. He would recommend this book to others. He enjoyed reading from the start and I appreciated that I ordered something he truly enjoyed.

This is a great book for Crappie fishing ideas and techniques. For folks in northern states the focus on many techniques are about lakes in Arkansas. However, the same applies in most areas. One needs to seek local information on water temperatures and have a good knowledge of the local lakes or find someone to give tips on the local hot spots for Crappie. For those that do not have a boat the advice about a cane pole or fiberglass one is great advice.

I read only half of this book before going fishing with immediate results. This book has me hooked on crappie fishing now. I learned a lot from this book. I am looking forward to trying out all seasons crappie fishing now.

My husband really likes this book

I bought this book for my Dad, a man (and I know this next claim is almost cliche) who caught over 4,000 crappie last year (yes, he keeps a detailed log). I hoped it would be good for him in the off chance there is something he doesn't know about catching crappie. When I called him the day after the book shipped, he had read it twice already and had indeed learned several things about crappie and the successful catching thereof. He even brings it to his favorite lake to share with his friends.Good job, Keith Sutton, on pulling off a miracle - teaching an old fishing dog new tricks!

DAVE BARRY'S GREATEST HITS is a reasonably priced, reasonably sized (289 pp.) paperback consisting mostly of daily columns Barry wrote for the MIAMI HERALD newspaper. These pieces are short, digestible, on-point and almost always very funny, as Barry skewers not only his upbringing but also the fads of the day and the travails of his work. Here he is on wine snobbery: "It's lucid, yes, but almost Episcopalian in its predictability." Or touring his latest book: "Recently, in Boston, I was on a show where the other two guests were -- this is true -- a police officer who explained how to avoid getting your purse snatched, and a woman named 'Chesty Morgan' who once served in the Israeli army and currently dances topless and has the largest natural bosom in the world."This is great stuff, but most of it is from the Eighties, so expect to hear about Ronald Reagan's personality and start-up phone companies, but not about coping with the TSA or distracted driving. Even so, the gags have worn better than this reviewer has, and DAVE BARRY'S GREATEST HITS is well worth a look.

As an avoid reader of Dave Barry for decades by now, and one who follows his writings with glee and guffaws, this one was true to form, mostly hilarious and often, too true and realistic. The man is just so funny, it is very hard not to laugh outright, and in this book, he covers 101 different topics well. It is very easy to get thru the entire book in just a few sittings, without much too stomach or rib pains from constant laughing. One should not read the book on the train or in a restaurant or library, but rather in one's own bedroom, sound-proofed, or in a bank's vault, after hours. It is very hard not to laugh out-loud, and on an airplane or subway, this can and does get one into trouble with other passengers or the laws. Have fun, it is unavoidable when reading Barry!

My hero, Dave Barry, does it again. There are probably very few young people today who are uncomfortable with rapidly-unfolding technology----but for those of us who sometimes long for the days when the most complicated piece of equipment on your desk was an adding machine that plugged into the wall, this book is as identifiable as it is hysterical. highly recommended!

This is one of those timeless humor books that holds up just as well today as it did when it was initially released 15 years ago! Dave Barry's mastery of the written word is at peak performance with this collection of columns. When they stuck the words "GREATEST HITS" on the cover, they were absolutely not lying.Sure, some of the events and people discussed within these pages may be dated, but if you were alive for those times (or took a history class in school) then you'll still appreciate a fresh and hilarious perspective.This book contains my all time favorite Barry column titled "Molecular Homicide" which tells the tell of the author having the flu and what happens when he is unable to get out of bed to monitor his young son's activities. This column alone is worth the price of the book. If you enjoy that column then there are plenty more that will tickle your funny bone.This is a good starting point for anyone getting into Barry for the first time. It's a book that's easy to pick up whenever you have a few minutes and since each column is only 2-3 pages in length you can always come back to it later without having to worry about remembering what you read previously. Though don't be surprised if you find yourself reading some columns numerous times! It's a perfect book to keep in the bathroom for those quick visits, or in the kitchen for when you're microwaving some food.If you make it through his "Greatest Hits" then I highly recommend "Dave Barry's Only Travel Guide You'll Ever Need," followed by "Dave Barry is Not Making This Up."You can't go wrong with any of his books, but I found the 3 mentioned to be the funniest.

The funniest book I've ever read. It is his innocent approach and strategically injected misinformation that is absurdly funny and succeeds at taking nothing at all seriously. His "rug pull" writing gags are classic and I always get a laugh when I read this book aloud to friends. After a few hours of hysteria our faces and stomachs hurt so much that we have to take breaks. I have nothing but warm feelings for this book and when I lost my copy I purchased it again, and again. I've read it at least 10 times. It is the PERFECT gift for anyone that knows anything about computers, or remembers just how bad and "lacking in standards" we were just a decade ago. It is amazing what we all put up with. One more thing: The last chapter was an unexpected romantic knockout genre change that blew me away. Dave really gets it and he really knows how to write.

I read this many years ago when a relative gave it to me after surgery. I laugh so hard I thought is in full the stitchesEven now with new operating systems and a much changed computing environment, much of what Dave writes about absolutely deflates intellectual fluff. For example, I copied the first page of one chapter on how to install a computer. The first instruction is "find Valium" and I gave this to a friend who was – – guess what – – installing computer. Talk about laughing out loudI might have to find some Valium for myself before I attempt to install Windows 8

The first 3/4 of this book are reliable, hilarious Dave Barry. You really don't need to know much more than that to know that you are in for a hilarious read.I found it really interesting, as a young person, to read about the 'early internet'. As often happens with Barry's books, this was surprisingly informative!Then something strange happens. He writes a semi-serious short story about a married woman who has a cyber-affair. It felt sort of out of place.

Dave Barry has a great sense of sarcastic humor. He can laugh about the ridiculousness that humans have created. He is a nut but a great nut and In Cyberspace kept me laughing so much so that my husband wanted me to read parts of the book to him since he is not a reader but he too thought Dave Barry is a HOOT!

I love to keep copies of this book on hand to give to emerging readers. Silliness makes for a great read-aloud, for sure. But it also encourages them to read on their own... because these stories are just plain fun!

My four year old loved this book from the library, so I bought it. He is learning to read and can recognized most of the words. He also understands the humor, his favorite story is about Sam and Jane camping out.

These stories are so silly. My little ones giggle all the way through. Even my 5 yo who "doesn't like reading" (his words not mine) will read this to himself when he doesn't think I'm watching.

I love this book. I bought it for my kids 25 years ago, it was always one of their favorites. I always keep a copy on hand to give as a gift.

The product works as intended, but Pearson is a horrible company that should be absolutely ashamed of themselves for exploiting college students. There is absolutely no reason for this product to be over $100, especially when it is only for one class. Quit price gouging everyone who is just trying to get a degree. Companies like Pearson are the epitome of why a Bachelor's degree now costs as much as a house. I truly hope you go out of business.

Received a few weeks early, and today my class started, I opened just today and I WAS UNABLE TO USE ACCESS CODE !!!! I want a refund !!! I don't make much money now no have to spend another $100 plus on this !!!! UPDATE 8/16/2018 I received a second access code it didn't work either !! I had to chat with Pearson agent online...if the class is thru canvas this will not work !!!... MAKE SURE WITH PROFESSOR WHAT NEEDS TO BE...lucky I had an awesome agent at Pearson that was able to assist with the issue and was able to have it work to full course...thank you Pearson agent !! Don't know if this company that sold this would have ever gave me my money back...so BEWARE !!!

Absolutely loved this deal! I had to buy an access code my statistics class for college and every where else was so expensive. This was the cheapest i found it and I have to admit, I was a little scared about purchasing it from Amazon since it is an access code and they can only be redeemed once. I swallowed the fear and bought it because I needed it, got it in 2 days with the Amazon prime free 2 day shipping and it worked! Not only did it work but i also got access to the ebook. This purchase saved me a good hundred dollars, so thank you!

This access code works perfect for me and saved me about $20, which is always great. The only "problem" I had was that when I opened up the package, it was not printed on that cardstock type paper that most access codes come in. It was on normal printer paper, which initially had me worried that I had gotten scammed. The same thing happened to another girl in my class as well. Fortunately, the code works great. Just wanted to write a review so no one else gets too worried if it looks a bit sketchy haha.

This is a weird thing to write a review on, since you don't have a choice in buying it. But, the code worked fine and I like my stat lab. I had my math lab in the past for other classes. It's a good program that is extremely easy to use. The "show me an example" is a great feature and is very helpful during homework. The only thing I don't like about it is that it can be picky about how you type in your answer. You may have the right answer, but because of the way you input it on the computer, it'll say it's wrong.

Pearson is a lazy company. Not only does their online program have flaws, but they often fail to actually show how to solve a problem when attempting to do so, and you can't even search the e-textbook! Make sure you have a tutor or stats person on standby, since you'll be doing most of the learning on your own!

This is an honest review of the product. Currently, I am finishing up my statistics course online and this program is required. I am pursuing highest honors at my school and I'm going to have to redo this class if I want that to remain an option.The program works, it does not work well and it does not work all the time. It works to the degree I would expect a free program to work - but this isn't a free program, it costs $90. (currently) One of the worst issues I have with it is that the people who programmed it with the math questions seemed to not know how math worked. The auto-format tool that instructors use to make assignments rounds answers down and they don't give feedback for incorrect answers aside from the generic prompts. It's like if you put in the question "What is 10/6? (round to the nearest hundredth)" The answer would be "1.67" but no, the tool assumes it is 1.66 and expects you to put in that as an answer. If you don't, it simply says "Wrong" and gives you no credit. If this is in a lesson, it will lock your progress in the lesson until you get it right. That's a real catch-22 as far as learning is considered.Teachers also cannot give you access to late assignments. When I told my professor that I wouldn't be here for a week and would have to catch up on my assignments she told me immediately to work ahead. Turns out, professors cannot grant leeway with deadlines in the program. Once a deadline passes you are locked out of course materials. This means that I can't even review my previous week's answers on a quiz if I got it wrong, nor can I go back and point out the questions that were broken with the rounding issue.The interface is about what you would expect. Your instructor chooses how you can view the course, from what I've seen on YouTube, if your instructor lets you just access the MyStatLab site directly, your experience would be generally good. However, if you use Canvas, your instructor can run the MyStatLab module within your existing interface, which is terrible. You can't independently zoom within the module, so if your Canvas UI is a bit cluttered already, you are SOL if you have bad vision. Also, you can't copy/paste for emailing your instructor (we've started taking screenshots of every question on every assignment just so we can retain some evidence of the broken program)On tests and quizzes there are three to five buttons that say "question help" These buttons do not give you help on questions, they give you the exact same prompt. This prompt explains how to input answers - FYI, you input the answers with your mouse and keyboard. Why they felt the need to put 3-5 buttons on every interface linking to the same thing, I have no idea. Furthermore, the fact that they expect you to be having this level of issue, but still know enough to actually click one of the 3-5 buttons is kind of insulting given the state of the program overall. It's like they are expecting, after four or five hours and seven weeks of navigating their program, you are just going to be like "How do I computer?"EVERY browser fails their authentication procedure. Our instructor sent out an urgent message to all students in the first week explaining this issue. Basically, most browser firewalls block requested access for Java applets in MyStatLab. The authentication procedure tells you to add Pearson to your exception list and provides detailed instruction in how to do this. Problem is, the authentication protocol is not tested from the MyStatLab website, it's sent by one of Pearson's other sites, so the fact that you made the exception doesn't mean jack - you will fail the browser check.One of my most fundamental issues is with the delivery system. Firstly, I didn't have any issues with activation like some other reviewers - but it looks like Pearson is a real POS as far as customer service goes. That aside, they physically mail you a giant sheet of folded paper. The sheet is about the size of a textbook without the thickness, so it comes in one of those yellow bubble mailers. Inside there is a code - and the code is in maybe 16 pt. font and only 1 line. Why? Why can't Pearson just email us the code? If they are resigned to mail it for whatever reason, why the hell can't they just make it in a size they can actually mail easily? This could have been done with something the size of a business card... or a matchbook.

This tool was so helpful while I was taking Statistics in college. Math is not my thing and this really helped me. There are assignments to complete in the computer as well as practice tests. There is a help button if you don't understand a problem and it will take you through it step by step. This was optional in my class so we were not graded on anything we did on there, it was just for extra practice. I found MyStatLab easier to learn from than the textbook.
